Westboro Baptist Church Plans to Protest Elizabeth Taylor's Funeral
On Thursday, March 23, screen legend Elizabeth Taylor died at the age of 79. Of course, many mourned her deaths and showed their respect and their condolences to the family of the actress who is considered to be one of the last great classic actresses of the Golden Era of movies. However not all people want to show their respect. The article is about the Westboro Baptist Church who revealed plans to protest and picket outside the funeral of Elizabeth Taylor.Margie Phelps, daughter of the hate group's leader Fred Phelps, tweeted Wednesday that they would picket Taylor's funeral, most likely because of Taylor's gay friends and humanitarian work against AIDS. Phelps also tweeted several attacks on Taylor, including "RIP Elizabeth Taylor is in hell as sure as you're reading this & getting mad as a wet hen. She should've obeyed God. Too late!" This without a doubt was met with much dissapointment, anger and sadness at the actions of these people.
Journalism is reporting events to the community so that the community can become self-governing and independent. Therefore this is journalism. It provides information on the recent death of a person and the actions of other people in response to it. By reporting on the actions of these people, others can learn the kind of evil in the world and do things to oppose these type of actions
The CBT that best relates to this article is Evangelism: God has specific directions (absolute law) concerning man’s relationship to both Himself and his fellow man. God calls us to show love for our neighbors and spread his Word. The actions of the Westboro church are in no way the love that Jesus spoke of and we can learn from this, to be wary of those who claim to be Christian and allows us to reflect on our own actions.

Even Nature Doesn't Like Sardines
Sardines Killed by Aliens
The above article is concerning the millions of dead sardines that washed up in the marina in Redondo beach. The article claims that the ones responsible for the deaths are aliens from a distant planet. Of course the article is supposed to be purely comedic and for entertainment purposes.
As stated above, the article is meant to be comedic. It in no way is journalism because it is never intended to be so. It has taken an actual event and offered an entirely impossible explanation that is in no way meant to be taken seriously. It is made more than clear that the "news organization" is fake and that they have no intention of practicing real journalism.

Salvation (Social Studies)
Throughout history, God has partnered with people to further his mission of salvation and redemption of a fallen creation.
and redemption of a fallen creation.
How does this apply to the article??? It doesnt! However instead of these people creating these fake articles that really serve no purpose than perhaps they can do something worthwhile and partner with God in His mission
